Short description
Howdy Mate! is a free iPhone app that helps you stay in touch with the people who matter. Set how often you’d like to catch up with each friend, get a gentle nudge when it’s been a while, and log the catch-up with one tap.
Long description
Friendships rarely end with a fight — they drift, one missed call at a time. Howdy Mate! gives each friend a rhythm, from every week to once a year, and counts from your last catch-up. When someone is due they appear on the Today screen and you get a kind reminder: friendships read “In touch”, “Drifting” or “Been a while”, never “overdue”. Logging a text, call, coffee or visit takes one tap. Call or text from the app and the catch-up logs itself, or speak a recap instead of typing. Birthdays come in from Contacts with gift ideas a week ahead, plans with friends ask the next day whether they happened, and a Recap shows your month or year in friends. Siri, Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets and a Control Center button work without opening the app. There is no account and no server: everything is stored on the iPhone, works offline, backs up daily to the user’s own iCloud and can be exported at any time. Howdy Mate! is completely free, with no ads or in-app purchases.
