Who needs you, first thing
The Today screen puts everyone who’s due under “Needs you”, most-drifted first, with who’s coming up underneath. It’s the only list you need to look at.

In a bit more detail

Rhythms
A rhythm for every friend
Not everyone needs the same attention. Choose how often you’d like to catch up with each person:
- every week, two weeks or month
- every two, three or six months, or once a year
- or a custom schedule — certain weekdays, or a set day each month
Mates without a rhythm stay on your list without ever nagging.

Reminders
A nudge, never a guilt trip
When someone’s rhythm comes round, they move up to “Needs you” and you get a gentle reminder. Each friendship reads “In touch”, “Drifting” or “Been a while” — never “overdue”, because a friendship isn’t a bill.
You can also schedule a one-off reminder for any date.
Check-ins
One tap to log a catch-up
Tap a mate, hit Save, done — or add the details: the kind of catch-up, a note for next time, how long it lasted. Caught up with the whole group at once? Log them all in one go.
Stuck for an opener, it suggests a conversation starter.

Occasions
Birthdays, remembered
Bring birthdays in from your contacts or add them yourself, and get a reminder the day before and on the day. Anniversaries, exams and other big dates live on each mate’s page and show on your Today screen.
Recap
See the shape of your year
The Log keeps every check-in and note. Recap turns them into your month, your year or all time: total catch-ups, people, active days, your busiest month, and a rhythm grid of the year.

Widget

Add the Howdy Mate! widget, in small or medium, to see who’s due without opening the app.

Privacy
Private by design
No account, no cloud, no ads. Everything lives on your iPhone, works offline, and can be exported as CSV or JSON whenever you like. Read the privacy policy.

Accessibility
Made for everyone
Every control is labelled for VoiceOver and Voice Control, text scales past 200% with rows that restack instead of truncating, state is never shown by colour alone, and Reduce Motion is respected throughout. Accessibility details.
